Innovation-Clinics-Return-to-Charnwood-Campus

Charnwood Campus Science, Innovation and Technology Park is proud to partner once again with Medilink Midlands and The Institute for Precision Health at the University of Leicester to deliver the next series of Leicestershire Innovation Clinics 2026.

The clinics will take place on Thursday 19 March 2026 (12:00–16:00 GMT) at Charnwood Campus, Bakewell Road, Loughborough.

Originally launched in October 2022, the Innovation Clinic programme has successfully supported innovators across Leicester and Leicestershire by providing direct access to expertise spanning academia, the NHS and the wider business innovation ecosystem. The programme has created clear, practical pathways to help pioneering ideas progress from concept through to development, funding and clinical engagement.

The 2026 clinics will build on that success and further strengthen collaboration across the region. The programme will also feed into the newly established Leicestershire Academic Health Partners (LAHP) Health Innovation Hub, expanding access to clinical insight and accelerating the delivery of impactful health innovations.

The clinics are designed for individuals and organisations already operating in, or transitioning into, the life sciences, MedTech and health tech sectors. Through confidential, sector-specific sessions, participants will benefit from coordinated advice across:

  • Academic and clinical expertise
  • Intellectual property and regulatory guidance
  • Clinical adoption pathways
  • Innovation testbeds
  • Funding opportunities
  • NHS engagement
  • Signposting and sector networking

By hosting these workshops collaboratively, innovators can access comprehensive support in one coordinated session, rather than engaging separately with multiple organisations.

The programme is open to students, healthcare professionals and companies developing new products or services, particularly those seeking guidance on funding, NHS engagement, patient and public involvement (PPI), value proposition development or competitive positioning.

Applications for the March clinic close on Thursday 26 February 2026, with early booking strongly advised due to high demand. Individuals and companies may attend one clinic session within the series. Ongoing support mechanisms will remain available beyond the session dates.

The programme is supported by the Leicestershire Academic Health Partners Health Innovation Hub, comprising:

Funding is provided through the University of Leicester’s Medical Research Council Impact Accelerator Account. Gosia Khrais, Commercial Director at Charnwood Campus, said: “The return of the Innovation Clinics reflects the strength of collaboration across Leicester and Leicestershire’s life sciences ecosystem. By bringing together academic, clinical and commercial expertise in one coordinated setting, we are helping innovators move more confidently from research to real-world impact. Charnwood Campus is proud to host this important regional initiative once again.”
