Four national motorways run through Leicestershire including the M1, giving access to 98% of the UK population with a 4 hours drive. Over half a million people work in the area, with a further 2.8 million workers within commuting distance of Leicestershire. East Midlands Gateway Strategic Rail Freight Terminal provides direct access to the UK’s network of Rail Freight Interchanges, and all major UK ports including Southampton, Felixstowe, London Gateway and the Channel Tunnel.


Home to East Midlands Airport – the UK’s largest pure cargo airport and national hub for DHL, TNT, UPS and Royal Mail and also connects over 4.8 million passengers, serving over 80 leisure and business destinations. Charnwood Campus is located on the outskirts of Loughborough and is easily accessed by road, rail and air. The Campus has ample free visitor car parking, EV charging, bike and scooter sheds.

By Road

By Rail

Travelling by train

If traveling by train, Loughborough train station is on the Midland Main Line, which runs from London St Pancras International to Sheffield. Charnwood Campus is approximately 5-10 minutes from the station by taxi, or a 30 mins walk. 

By Air

East Midlands Airport is 9 miles away, travel by taxi or Flight Link bus to Loughborough. Birmingham Airport is 32 miles away.
