Charnwood Campus will welcome leaders from industry, academia, healthcare and the public sector on Friday 27 November 2026 for the East Midlands Life Sciences Cluster Summit: From Discovery to Scale.
The event marks the final summit in a series bringing organisations together from across the region to explore how the East Midlands can strengthen its life sciences sector. It will also see the official launch of the East Midlands Life Sciences Cluster campaign and website, alongside the publication of its Position Paper.
Taking place the day after a visit to Westminster, the summit will focus on the action needed to attract investment, support companies to scale, strengthen manufacturing and help new innovations reach patients.
Gosia Khrais, Managing Director of Charnwood Campus, said: ‘The East Midlands has outstanding businesses, research expertise and healthcare partners. Over the past two years, we have brought people together to understand our shared strengths and the barriers holding the region back. This summit is an opportunity to turn that work into action: to launch a collective campaign, raise the profile of our region and build the connections needed to grow our life sciences sector.’
The campaign is funded by RandalSun Capital, Datalink Electronics, Marks & Clerk and Kindeva Drug Delivery, bringing together expertise from across the sector to support its development.
Access to investment and the support needed to grow will also be central themes at the summit. Dr Nik Kotecha, Founder of RandalSun Capital, said: ‘The East Midlands has the ideas, talent, and entrepreneurial ambition to build a globally competitive life sciences ecosystem. We need to match those strengths with access to investment and the right support so that more companies can scale here, creating skilled jobs and long-term economic value for the region.’
Mariam Smith of Datalink Electronics said: ‘The East Midlands has a wealth of innovative businesses developing technologies that can make a real difference to healthcare. By bringing industry, clinicians and other partners closer together, we can help more of those innovations move from development into practical use and reach the people who need them.’
Event sponsors are Avidity, ATG Scientific Ltd and LAUDA. Exhibitors include Total Lab Supplier, PHCHD, Calibrie Scientific, Biopharma Group, Scientific Laboratory Supplies, Biocytogen, LLBSP and Loughborough University.
The summit takes place at Charnwood Campus, Loughborough, from 9.00 am to 2.00 pm, with networking continuing afterwards.
